Please be advised that you must familiarize yourself with the new Firearm Control Act (FCA 2000), and that you need to be aware of the legal requirements pertaining to the safe handling, storage, transportation and use of the firearm in terms of the FCA 2000. (ACT 60 of 2000).
It is highly recommended that you apply in advance for your temporary firearm import permit and that you make use of PHASA (Professional Hunters Association of S.A.) services to obtain these permits for you and to assist you on arrival in S.A. This cuts out the long wait if you get the permit on arrival.
Read the requirements carefully on the website - it is actually very easy. The web address is: www.phasa.co.za, click on general hunting info and then click on S.A. Firearm Importation Procedures and suggestions.

Feel free to contact CDPS at any time for assistance or questions. My recommendation is that you do this at least 4 to 6 weeks before arrival to allow for sufficient time for processing.

Very IMPORTANT is the invitation letter that you need from CDPS.
